Responsibilities

911 logo The Murray County 911 Center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is responsible for:

  • Answering emergency and non-emergency calls for service within Murray County, the City of Chatsworth, and the City of Eton
  • Dispatching appropriate public safety departments to calls for service based on jurisdiction
  • Coordinating multi-agency responses to calls that require the response of more than one department
  • Monitoring and reporting weather conditions for the safety of the citizens, visitors, and public safety personnel
  • Processing public safety personnel field-initiated requests
  • Maintaining computerized records of calls for service for all public safety departments within Murray County, the City of Chatsworth, and the City of Eton
  • Providing callers with instructions for rendering aid in medical emergencies
