Public Notice to property owners and occupants :
The Murray County Assessor’s office will be changing the office hours effective January 3, 2023 to 7am – 6pm and open Monday- Thursday and closed on Friday. This change is to benefit the Taxpayer with longer hours for people that cannot make it in between 8am-5pm. This would better serve the Taxpayers of Murray County if the Assessor’s office is open the same days as the Tax Commissioner’s office since the services that we each provide are interconnected. This will give the Taxpayer an extra hour in the morning and an extra hour in the evenings to conduct business.
Attention: Field Appraisers Crystal Stanley, Sarah Acosta, Brittany Hales and Appraiser Tech, Nicole Shockley will be out checking properties between March 20, 2023 - March 23, 2023. They will be in various locations throughout the week and will be driving a white SUV with the Murray County Logo. The Assessor's Office is charged with keeping property at fair market value to produce a uniform and equitable tax digest for collection purposes.
To better serve the citizens of Murray County, our office takes great pride in educating the taxpayers of the valuing process, appeal process, and any exemptions they are eligible for.
In accordance with O.C.G.A 48-5-264.1, please be advised that the Murray County appraisal staff may be visiting your property to review your parcel information concerning an appeal filed, return filed, construction of new improvement or addition, review of parcel, mobile home decals, and/or conservation use applications. The field appraiser from our office will have photo identification and will be driving a marked County vehicle.
