The fall months of the year pose a higher fire threat with the ground being
blanketed with fallen leaves. However, the rainfall and higher humidity levels in
recent days have been sufficient to help alleviate some of the extremely dry
conditions that made it necessary to enact a Fire/Burn Ban on all unincorporated
areas within Murray County, Georgia on 11/7/2023.
At the suggestion of Murray County Fire/EMA Director, Dewayne Bain, and with
the support of Georgia Environmental and Forestry Divisions, I feel the immediate
threat of injury to people and damage to property within Murray County, Georgia
is significantly lessened therefore I am terminating the Fire/Burn Ban. The
Termination of the Fire/Burn Ban in all unincorporated areas within Murray
Count, Georgia is effective this 5th (Fifth) day of December 2023.
