All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this tax increase to be held at the Murray County Annex, located at 121 N. 4th Ave. in Chatsworth, Georgia on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

 The tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 9.268 mills in incorporated and 9.194 mills in unincorporated Murray County, an increase of 0.143 mills incorporated and an increase of 0.075 mills unincorporated. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 9.129 mills in incorporated and no more than 9.119 in unincorporated Murray County. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $5.43 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $5.72
