About our Founder

Keep Chatsworth-Murray Beautiful was founded by Frank Adams originally from Chatsworth, Georgia. One of eleven brothers and sisters, Frank attended Chatsworth Elementary and Murray County High School where he played football and basketball as well as being the president of his Senior class. He attended Lincoln Memorial University where he met his wife, Peg. Frank and Peg have been married now for 50+ years and have five children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandsons.

Frank spent the majority of his career in the tire and automotive industry working in various capacities from salesman to Division Manager over stores in three states. In 1982 he joined Keep Smyrna Beautiful and in 1984 become president of KSB until he retired in 2001. For the last eight years of his tenure, Keep Smyrna Beautiful was rated the number one affiliate in the state of Georgia. In 1996 Keep Smyrna Beautiful was rated number two in the nation and Frank was named the National Chairman of the Year. With the help of Tom Starnes and Jim Welch, Frank founded Keep Murray Beautiful and after six months, Jerry Sanford brought the city of Chatsworth on board.

Frank is active in the Lutheran church, where he has been a Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, Elder and President of the congregation. He enjoys reading, collecting stamps and crossword puzzles. Service organization involvement: Jaycees, Elks, Rotary, Smyrna Business Association, United Way, Adopt-a-Highway

Awards include: 2006 Murray County Volunteer of the Year, 2007 United Way "Elaine Butler Award" for Outstanding Volunteerism, 2007 United Way Community Volunteer Award, 2007 Modern Woodman of America "Hometown Hero", 2008 Ecumenical Earth Day Community Caretaker Award, 2008 Keep America Beautiful President's Circle, 2009 Keep Georgia Beautiful 2nd Place Affiliate Award, 2009 Keep America Beautiful William Nash Winner – Best New Affiliate, 2009 Keep America Beautiful President's Circle, 2010 Nomination for William Fincher Community Builder Award
