Responsibilities

Probate matters include handling estate issues, such as:

  • Probate of a will
  • Administrations
  • No administrations
  • Years support
  • Guardianships of minors and incapacitated adults
  • Safekeeping of wills

Fee Schedule

Fees for probate matters are as follows.

Administration Fees


These fees are assessed if the deceased did not have a will:

  • $202 Filing Fee
  • $192 for publication for four weeks
  • $50 each for sheriff's service if needed

Dismission

These fees are for closing the estate after all matters are taken care of after six months:

  • $187 Filing Fee
  • $42 for one week publication
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed

Executorship

These fees are assessed if the deceased had a will:

  • $202 Filing Fee
  • $132 for publication if all heirs do not sign (4 weeks)
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed

Guardianship of a Child

  • $137 Filing Fee
  • $102 for publication if needed (2 times)
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed

Guardianship of an Incapacitated Adult

  • $202 Filing Fee
  • $132 for publication if needed
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed
  • $150 for Attorney if needed
  • $50 for service for proposed ward

No Administration

  • $202 Filing Fee
  • $192 for publication for four weeks
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed

Safekeeping of Wills

  • $15 fee

Years Support

  • $202 Filing Fee
  • $192 for publication if needed
  • $50 for sheriff's service if needed

Claims

  • $15 each

Additional charges may apply for any certified mailing costs.
